Description
Cardiothoracic Fellowship
The Department of Radiology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is seeking applicants for the Cardiothoracic Fellowship in the 2026/27 and 2027/28 academic years. This one-year fellowship is ACGME-Equivalent and starts July 1.
The Cardiothoracic Imaging fellowship program will accept up to two fellows each year. Fellows can expect to receive an outstanding educational experience learning from subspecialty trained cardiothoracic imaging experts at a busy tertiary care center. Hopkins is a high-volume referral center for all major cardiac disease, and our fellows are exposed to the full width and breadth of pathology in cardiac imaging using both MR and CT. Cardiac CT and cardiac MR exams are supervised and performed by a dedicated cardiac trained radiologists within the cardiac imaging section. Fellows will have the opportunity to learn on our newly installed photon counting CT scanner and a fleet of dual source CTs.
The thoracic experience for our fellows includes exposure to oncologic imaging, particularly lung cancer management and follow-up, interstitial lung disease, non-tuberculous mycobacterial disease, trauma, and other ED/inpatient imaging.
In addition to rotating with the cardiothoracic imaging team to learn chest CT, cardiac CT, and cardiac MRI, the fellow will also benefit from the multidisciplinary collaboration that is such a strength of the Hopkins system. Fellows will attend and staff the multidisciplinary thoracic tumor board, interstitial lung disease conference, non-tuberculous mycobacterial conference, and congenital cardiac surgery conference. These conferences are a great opportunity for fellows to learn how cardiothoracic imaging fits within the context of the greater patient care team and will learn how to tailor imaging reports to the needs of the ordering practitioners. Ample research opportunities in cardiac and thoracic CT, cardiac MR, and AI are also available.
In addition to a competitive annual salary, fellows receive educational funds.
